In the Kotwali area, the police caught the cow smugglers red handed in an encounter in which one got shot in the leg while one was caught by the police, apart from this two cow smugglers escaped from the spot.
According to the information received, Kotwali Milak police got information on Wednesday night that cow smugglers were going to slaughter cows in the forests of village Lakhimpur Bishnu of the area. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the forests and started searching. When two persons coming from the front on a bike were stopped for checking, both of them got scared and turned the bike and started running and fired at the police to save themselves. While taking retaliatory action, the police also fired, as a result of which Nazim son Arif resident of Mohalla Naseerabad Milak Rampur got shot in the leg and the other was
caught by the police, the other’s name is Rajin son Nadda resident of Mohalla Naseerabad Milak Rampur. When the police interrogated both of them, both of them accepted the incident of cow slaughter. The police has admitted the injured to the district hospital for treatment and he is undergoing treatment.
According to information, cow slaughtering equipment was also found with both of them.
A case has been registered against both of them in Milak police station under crime number 324/24, section 109 BNS and 3/4/25 Arms Act and legal action is being taken. The arresting team included Kotwali in-charge Dhananjay Singh, Sub Inspector Yogendra Singh, Sub Inspector Pankaj Kumar, Sub Inspector Shrikant Satyarthi, Head Constable Jagesh Singh, Constable Siddhant Bhullar, Constable Jitendra Kumar, Constable Sarfaraz.
