Another wanted criminal who was absconding in the case of robbery of crores of rupees at a goldsmith’s house in Sultanpur district had an encounter with the STF in Unnao district. He was killed in this operation. One of his companions managed to escape, the team is searching for him.
Initial information received from STF has revealed that the criminal killed in the encounter has been identified as Anuj Pratap Singh, originally from Amethi district. The STF team was looking for the criminals with prize money who were absconding in the robbery case. Meanwhile, Anuj’s location was found in Kuluhagarha village located in Achalganj police station area of Unnao district. STF surrounded him and asked him to surrender, but he started firing on the team along with his partner. When STF took action, he got injured by bullets. He was immediately sent to the hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. A reward of one lakh was announced on him. The team has started searching for his absconding partner.
It is noteworthy that before Anuj, the wanted criminal, was killed in Unnao. In the Sultanpur dacoity case, the wanted criminal Mangesh Yadav was killed in an encounter by the UP STF team. In this dacoity case, the police and UP STF have killed two criminals in an encounter so far, while the arrest of many criminals is underway.
