Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has reached the second position in the latest ODI rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He performed well in the ODI series against Sri Lanka earlier this month, which has benefited him in this ranking.

Rohit surpassed his opening partner Shubman Gill with 765 rating points. Gill has now reached number three. There are three Indians in the top-10. Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains at the top.

Rohit scored two half-centuries against Sri Lanka

Rohit was the highest run-scorer in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He scored 157 runs in 3 matches at an average of 52.33 and a strike rate of 141.44. This included two half-centuries. His scores in the three matches of the series were 58, 64 and 35 runs. Apart from him, most of the Indian batsmen disappointed and India lost the series 0-2. The first match of the series was a tie.

South African bowler Keshav Maharaj is at the top of

the ODI rankings with 716 rating points. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood (688) is at the second spot, Australia’s Adam Zampa (686) is at the third spot, India’s Kuldeep Yadav (665) is at the fourth spot and Namibia’s Bernad Scholts (657) is at the fifth spot.

Not a single Indian in top 10 all-rounders

The world’s number-1 all-rounder in ICC’s ODI rankings is Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi. His rating points are 320. Not a single Indian player is included in the top 10. In this list, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan (292) is at the second place, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza (288) is at the third place, Papua New Guinea’s Asad Vala (248) is at the fourth place and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (239) is at the fifth place.
