Mahesh Pandey, the script writer of Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’, was arrested by Mumbai Police. He was taken into custody on Friday on charges of defrauding producer Jatin Sethi of Rs 2.65 crore. According to police sources, Mahesh Pandey was produced in the court and has been sent to judicial custody.
Regarding this, Senior Police Officer of Amboli Police Station said- Mahesh Pandey has been arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by Jatin Sethi. Jatin Sethi alleges that he had given a loan of Rs 2.65 crore to Mahesh Pandey. But Mahesh Pandey did not pay the money.
Talking about the arrest of Mahesh Pandey, lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui said – A case has been registered against Mahesh Pandey, his wife Madhu Mahesh Pandey and other family members under sections 406 and 420 of the IPC.
Mahesh Pandey has written many shows for TV. He started his career with ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’. After this he wrote many shows like ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’, ‘Kasam Se’. Mahesh Pandey has also produced and directed many Bhojpuri films. One of which was the film ‘Gabbar Singh’. This film was produced by Ekta Kapoor. This film was a Bhojpuri remake of ‘Sholay’.
