Safiqur Rahman, son of former Pradhan Ali Bahadur of village Aamapokhar under Kotwali Nanpara and husband of the current Pradhan, died by drowning in Saryu canal on Sunday evening. It is told about the incident.
That Safiqur Rahman, 35 years, son of former Pradhan Ali Bahadur of Gram Panchayat Aamapokhar of development block Balha, who is the husband of the current female Pradhan, went to his farm on Sunday evening and started thinking there, but his feet slipped in the water of Saryu canal and he fell into the deep water. His brother was present at the time of the incident and he tried to save him.
He raised an alarm and gathered the villagers but they could not save the drowned person. The SDM and the police were immediately informed about the incident. SDM Nanpara Ashwani Kumar Pandey, Kotwal Pradeep Kumar Singh, Naib Tehsildar Shailesh Awasthi, Accountant Vinod Kumar Singh reached the spot with divers and searched till late night but the body of the young man was not found. The next morning when the water level in the canal receded, the rescue operation was started again.
After hours of hard work, the body of the youth was found. The body was identified as the husband of the Pradhan. As soon as the body was found, the atmosphere of the family and the entire area became gloomy. In the presence of Kotwal Pradeep Kumar Singh and Naib Tehsildar, Panchnama was done with the consent of the family and the body was handed over to the family. There is a wave of mourning in the area due to this heart-wrenching incident.
