The father of the Kolkata doctor – who was raped and murdered at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital – has claimed that he wanted to preserve his daughter’s body but was forced to cremate her. The doctor’s father told reporters that when they returned home with the body, 300-400 policemen surrounded them. “We wanted the body to be kept safe, but a lot of pressure was put on us. Around 300-400 policemen surrounded us. When we returned home, we saw around 300 policemen standing outside. They created such a situation that we were forced to cremate the body,” he said, NDTV reported.

He claimed that the cremation was done in a hurry and the family was not asked to pay for it. According to the channel, some policemen allegedly asked him to sign a blank paper. He said he tore the paper.
