According to the BCCI constitution, an official can hold office for six years before a three-year cooling off period. Jay Shah became the BCCI secretary in October 2019. After that he was re-elected as BCCI secretary in 2022. As per BCCI rules, he will have to go into a cooling off period after completing his current term in 2025.
