A school in Gaza’s Daraj district was attacked on Saturday morning. More than 100 people have died in this. According to Al Jazeera, the dead included women, children and the elderly.
Many people had taken shelter in this school. The attack took place while offering morning prayers. According to local people, 3 rockets fell on the school one after the other. Due to this a fire broke out there.
The Israeli army claims that Al-Tabin School was being used as a Hamas office. Many Hamas terrorists were present there. The attack has not been on civilians.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said that before the attack they had taken several steps to minimize harm to civilians. Aerial surveillance of the area was conducted. Besides, information was also collected through Israeli intelligence sources present there.
Hamas described the attack as horrific
Hamas spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told news agency AFP that about 100 people were killed in the attack. Dozens have been injured. Palestinians had taken shelter in the school. This is a horrific attack.
Earlier on Thursday also, two schools in Gaza were attacked by the Israeli army, in which at least 18 people were killed. Then the Israeli army said that it had attacked the command centers of Hamas.
Palestinian journalist Hossam Shabat wrote on social media that Palestinians are trapped in a bombed school in Gaza City. There is difficulty in extinguishing the fire because the Israeli army has also cut off the water supply.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad said that criminals targeted those who prayed to Allah in the school in the morning. This is a crime. After destroying the schools, the enemy forces are using the same excuses as they used after attacking the hospitals. All his arguments proved false.
Israel has already attacked Gaza schools
In December last year too, Israel had carried out airstrikes on two schools in Gaza. 50 people were killed in this, while hundreds were injured. Since October 7, Israel has attacked UNRWA premises 430 times.

Amidst the war against Hamas, Israel attacked the 76-year-old Nussirat Refugee Camp in Central Gaza. During this time a school was targeted. 32 people have died in this airstrike carried out by fighter jet. These include women and children.
