The rape and murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata was heard in the Calcutta High Court today (21 August). The petitioner’s lawyer said that the state government has formed an SIT to investigate former principal Sandip Ghosh. This is a sham to save him. However, the court said, we will now hear this case on September 4.
On the other hand, the Bengal government said that it will present the report related to the case in the court. On this, High Court Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam said, the matter is now in the Supreme Court. Keep the report with you and show it to the Supreme Court.
The last hearing in the High Court was held on 16 August. Then Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam reprimanded the state government and the police and said that a crowd of 7 thousand people had come to vandalize the hospital. What was the police doing? If the police is not able to protect itself, then how will the doctors work fearlessly.
New information has come to light in the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in a hospital. The postmortem report has revealed that the victim died due to suffocation. That is, the victim was killed by strangulation. On Wednesday (August 21), former cricketer Sourav Ganguly will join the doctors’ protest and march in Kolkata along with his wife Dona.
The accused brutally abused the doctor
The police handed over the postmortem report to the trainee doctor’s family on August 12, which stated that the trainee doctor was raped and assaulted on the night of August 8-9 and then strangulated and killed. The incident is estimated to have happened between 3 and 5 am on August 9. The four-page postmortem report stated that the accused brutally abused the doctor.

Accused Sanjay Roy will undergo lie detector test
Sanjay Roy, accused in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor, will undergo a lie detector test. The Kolkata court has given permission to the CBI for this. Sanjay has been in police custody since August 10. A CBI team reached the Kolkata Police Headquarters on Monday (August 19) evening to obtain footage from CCTV cameras of some areas.
Earlier it was being said that after coming out of RG Kar Hospital for the first time, the accused had gone to the locality of sex workers, but he had only consumed alcohol there. Now an attempt will be made to find out from the CCTV camera footage as to where exactly he had gone and which house?
SC said- cannot wait for one more rape, formed task force in Kolkata rape-murder case
In the Kolkata rape-murder case, a bench of Chief Justice (CJI) DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra heard the case on August 20. CJI said- we cannot wait for one more rape to improve the system.
A task force is being formed to improve the security of doctors. It includes 9 doctors who will recommend measures for the safety, working conditions and welfare of medical professionals. Five officers of the central government have also been included in the task force.
The court asked the state government’s lawyer why the principal called it a suicide after the incident. A status report has been sought from the CBI by August 22 and a report on the incident has been sought from the state government. The responsibility of security of the hospital was given to CISF by RG. The next hearing of the case will be on August 22.
On the other hand, after the order of the Supreme Court, the doctors of Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital ended their strike. Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly will protest with his wife Dona on August 21.
