On the occasion of Independence Day, ISRO has released a video of the training of the astronauts of the Gaganyaan mission. The video shows that the astronauts are being trained in a simulated condition like space.
ISRO has shared this video on the social media platform ‘X’. In the video, astronauts are doing yoga inside the space module. They are being trained according to the spacecraft, zero gravity and other challenges faced in space.
India will celebrate National Space Day (NSD) on 23 August 2024. On this day last year, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 landed near the South Pole of the Moon. Preparations for National Space Day are going on across the country. ISRO Chief Dr. S Somnath has appealed to people across the country to participate in this celebration.

PM Modi announced the names of the astronauts of the Gaganyaan mission in February at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) in Thiruvananthapuram. These include Group Captain Prashant Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.
On this occasion, PM Modi had said- A while ago, the country got acquainted with the 4 Gaganyaan passengers for the first time. These are not just 4 names or 4 people, these are the four powers that are going to take the aspirations of 140 crore Indians to space. After 40 years, an Indian is going to space, but this time the time is ours, the countdown is ours and the rocket is also ours.
