Ganga and Yamuna are in spate in Uttar Pradesh. There are flood like situations in 15 districts. 65 ghats are submerged in Ganga in Varanasi, where NDRF is deployed.

Due to rise in the water level of Sharda River in Lakhimpur, 250 villages have been flooded. About 2.50 lakh people are affected.

Water has entered 4 villages due to the bursting of a pond in Morena, Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, flood alert has been issued in 20 villages.

More than 26 people have died in the last 2 days due to rain in Rajasthan. Holidays have been declared in schools in 4 districts including Jaipur.

Flood in 33 districts during monsoon season in UP, 17 people died

There have been floods in 33 districts in Uttar Pradesh this monsoon season. A total of 17 people have died in this.
40 thousand cusecs of water has been released into Yamuna river from Hathnikund barrage located on the border of UP-Uttarakhand and Haryana.
Due to this, the water level of Yamuna has increased to one lakh cusecs. This will impact many districts including Saharanpur.

2 national highways closed due to landslide in Himachal

Due to landslides and floods in Himachal Pradesh, 2 national highways and 195 roads including Shimla-Kinnaur are closed. On August 11, 3 girls were washed away in the flood in Una.
Between June 27 and August 12, 110 people have died in rain-related incidents in Himachal. The state suffered a loss of approximately Rs 1,004 crore.

Heavy rain alert in 17 states on August 14

According to the Meteorological Department, there is an alert of heavy to heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, South Interior Karnataka on August 14. Up to 12 cm of water may fall here.
Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh and Lakshadweep. There is also forecast of rain. Up to 7 CM of water can fall here.
