Congress and National Conference (NC) will contest the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections together. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah announced this after meeting Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, 22 August.
He said, ‘Both the parties will contest all the 90 seats in the state together. The seats will be finalised by tonight. We hope that we will come to power again. Our doors are open for everyone.’
Earlier, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi told party workers in Srinagar that it is most important to represent Jammu and Kashmir and get it back the status of a state. I have a blood relation with this place. In such a situation, it is expected that people will definitely support us in the elections.
Rahul said- We broke PM Modi’s confidence
Rahul Gandhi told the workers that we have broken PM Modi’s confidence in the Lok Sabha elections. Now his chest is not 56 inches. He walks with his shoulders bent. There will be an alliance in the Jammu and Kashmir elections only when all the Congress workers get respect.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that if we win the Jammu and Kashmir elections, the whole of India will come under our control. Rahul and Kharge are on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Both the leaders reached Srinagar on the evening of 21 August. On the second day, both the leaders met the workers.
