Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming political drama Emergency has been mired in controversy due to its sensitive subject. The film, based on the life story of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has been stalled by the CBFC despite initially getting approval. In a recent video posted on her social media handle, Kangana revealed that her directorial debut is yet to receive a certificate from the censor board.

Talking about her film’s issue with the CBFC, Kangana said, “There are a lot of rumours floating around that our film Emergency has received a certificate from the censor board. This is not true. Actually, our film was cleared but its certification has been put on hold.

Because there are so many death threats coming in. Though our film was cleared by the CBFC, the certification was delayed due to multiple death threats to the censor board members.
