In the increasing cases of molestation in the district, another case of attempted molestation by an X-ray technician of the district hospital with a 22-year-old trainee girl came to light two days ago. The Dalit girl made a written complaint to the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Uttam Kumar and the women’s police station, accusing the X-ray technician of forcing himself on her in the dark room.

As an action, the hospital administration constituted a panel of 3 doctors and a staff nurse and started a departmental inquiry. A day later, the inquiry report was also presented before the hospital administration in which the accused Ravindra Yadav was declared innocent, but the victim gave the matter to the police.

Based on the complaint, a case under Section 74 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against X-ray technician Ravindra Yadav in the city police station. The accused has not been arrested yet. On the other hand, the hospital’s employee union is also considering to mobilize and file a complaint against the victim.
