A 32 year old woman named Geeti, living near Jama Masjid in the city’s Kila police station area, committed suicide by consuming poison six days ago. After Geeti’s death, her body was buried without conducting a post-mortem. However, a video of Geeti writhing in pain after consuming poison went viral, which was recorded by her husband. After this video went viral, the woman’s parents demanded an inquiry from the District Officer. On the orders of the District Officer, Geeti’s body was exhumed from the grave on Wednesday.
Geeti was married twice –
Actually, Geeti was first married to a man named Vicky, but they got divorced after five years. After this, she married Faisal for the second time, with whom she was in a live-in relationship for four years. Now her parents have alleged that Geeti has been killed by poisoning.
The police has taken out the body from the graveyard of Kallu Mian located in the fort area and sent it for postmortem. The real cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report comes. The police has started investigating the whole case.
