BJP released 3 lists of candidates on Monday for the assembly elections being held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years. The first list came at 10 am. It contained the names of 44 candidates for 3 phases, but it was deleted shortly after.

As soon as the first list was released, workers started protesting in the Jammu BJP office. The workers said that the party has fielded parachute candidates. After this, state BJP president Ravindra Raina went to his cabin and closed the door. After a while, he came out and said- Don’t worry, I will talk to everyone personally.

The matter reached the high command. 2 hours after the first list was released, at 12 o’clock, another list came, it had the names of only 15 candidates of the first phase. Ravindra Raina said, “Right now the focus is on the first phase of voting on September 18. I will talk to every worker personally.”

After this, another list came at 2:45 pm. There was only one name in it. The name of Chaudhary Roshan Hussain was announced from Konkarnag.

Voting for the 90 seats of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in 3 phases between 18 September and 1 October. The results will be declared on 4 October 2024. The majority figure for victory is 46.

The first list was deleted after it was released. Dainik Bhaskar questioned Jammu and Kashmir media in-charge Sajjad on this. He said that the list of 44 candidates has been cancelled due to a typing error.

2. Omi Khajuria did not get the ticket, supporters said – will resign.
Slogans were raised in the Jammu office in the name of Omi Khajuria, whose name was not in the first list. He has been contesting elections from Jammu North, here Sham Lal Sharma, who came from Congress to BJP, was given the ticket. The party has stopped this list.

40 star campaigners were made including Modi-Shah

BJP has released a list of 40 star campaigners for election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda. The list also includes the names of Shivraj Chauhan, Yogi Adityanath and Smriti Irani.

The party has appointed national spokesperson RP Singh and Shazia Ilmi as media coordinators. Punjab media coordinator Vineet Joshi will also be a part of the Jammu and Kashmir team.
