Students and workers’ organizations are marching in protest against the rape-murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. Students will try to protest till the secretariat. In view of this, security has been beefed up in Kolkata. They have demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. They will gather at College Square, Santragachhi and Howrah Maidan.
Citing violence, the police has declared the rally illegal. In view of the situation, strict security arrangements have been made. More than 6 thousand policemen have been deployed in the entire city.
The students have announced to surround Nabanna Bhavan demanding the resignation of the state CM Mamata Banerjee. Let us tell you, Nabanna Bhavan in Howrah is the state secretariat. A student involved in this protest said that we have only three demands. First, Abhaya should get justice, the culprit should be given death penalty and Mamata Banerjee should resign.
