There are flood-like conditions in many districts of Gujarat. The maximum impact of heavy rain on Monday was seen in Ahmedabad. It has been raining here since around 3 am. In the last 12 hours, 6 inches of rain has been recorded in the city. Due to this, many areas of the city are flooded with water up to 7 feet.

Due to heavy rains, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam in Gujarat is about to overflow. Due to this, 3 gates of the dam were opened on Monday morning. An orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains has been issued in 23 districts including Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Valsad.

Flood alert has been issued for the next 24 hours in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. There is a danger of flood in 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh including Neemuch, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam within the next 24 hours. At the same time, in Rajasthan, an alert of very heavy rain has been issued in 5 districts and an orange alert of heavy rain in 5 districts.

Here, a 35 feet high statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fell on Monday in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. This statue was unveiled in Rajkot Fort on 4 December 2023. Officials say that the reasons for the fall of the statue will be investigated. However, it is likely that the statue fell due to heavy rains in the last two-three days.

253 people have died in Himachal during monsoon season

253 people have died in Himachal Pradesh during this monsoon season. Property worth Rs 121 crore has been destroyed. Along with this, 383 people are injured and 30 people are missing.

Among the dead, 110 people have lost their lives in road accidents, while 8 have died in floods, 5 in landslides, 22 in cloudburst, 26 in drowning, 21 in snake bites, 15 in electric shock, 38 in tree falling and 8 in other reasons.

  • According to IMD, very heavy rains (more than 20 cm) are likely at some places in Gujarat. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely in Kerala, Telangana. Heavy rains (12 cm) are likely at some places in Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra.
  • Rainfall up to 7 cm is likely at some places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka.
  • Lightning is likely in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
