IAS officer TV Somanathan becomes Cabinet Secretary of India
The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet on August 10 appointed senior IAS officer TV Somanathan as the Cabinet Secretary of India. His tenure will be for two years, which will start from August 30. At present, Somanathan holds the post of Union Finance Secretary. He will replace Rajiv Gauba, who completes five years of his tenure this month.
Shahrukh Khan received Pardo Alla Carriera Award
Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan has been awarded the Pardo alla Carriera Award at the 77th Locarno Film Festival 2024 in Switzerland on August 10. Shahrukh is the first Indian to be honored with this award. His film Devdas was also screened during the festival.
